Quality System Administrator

Mologic Ltd is seeking a Quality System Administrator to work with its IVD medical devices development and manufacturing programmes.

Responsibilities and Duties.

The role is based at Mologic Ltd. (Thurleigh), an innovative healthcare diagnostics company.

You will work with and report directly to the Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager.

You will assist in the maintenance and improvement of Mologic’s ISO 13485 quality management system:

  • develop and maintain the QMS and associated documentation (SOPs, batch records, training records etc.)
  • assist in internal and external audits and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
  • ensure quality records are established and maintained
  • proactively seek to improve Quality and Regulatory Affairs awareness and compliance
  • prepare for upcoming external audits

Qualifications and Skills.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in ISO 13485 Quality Management Systems in an in vitro diagnostic medical device company.

Experience in MDSAP (specifically Canada, US, AUS) would be advantageous.

Flexible team worker. Good attention to detail.

Research Scientist – York

Mologic is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Research Scientist to join our team.
The position is based at the York site (Sand Hutton) which is expanding to provide a comprehensive microbiology, recombinant protein and antibody service.

Job specification
The role involves working as part of a team to deliver molecular biology and recombinant antibody services.
Tasks will include:
• Fermentation and protein expression in bacteria and yeast
• Protein purification using affinity and gel filtration methods
• Molecular cloning
• General laboratory reagent preparation and cleaning
• Detailed laboratory record keeping
• Report writing
• Presentation of data internally and to clients

Person specification.
• Degree or equivalent in Biology or a related subject area
• Experience in protein expression and purification essential
• Experience in bioreactor culture and expression preferred
• Experience in molecular cloning preferred
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work on own initiative, manage time effectively and progress tasks concurrently
• Excellent organisational skills and understanding of the importance of maintaining laboratory records
• General proficiency with computers
• A sound knowledge of laboratory safety.
• Demonstrable communication skills

Research Assistants. – 2 Posts.

Mologic Ltd are seeking Research Assistants to join their R&D teams developing point of care diagnostics products.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties include sample receipt and testing, QC testing, Data Entry, Assay development, Multiplexing, Equipment monitoring, QC and maintenance, Manufacturing. preparing various buffer solutions, stocking up laboratory consumables and helping to process goods in etc; autoclaving laboratory waste materials to sterilise it; Supporting the set of clinical studies, including supplies and monitoring, QC testing of manufactured batches and finished kits.

Daily write up of all project work in lab books.

Control of work areas (service of equipment, housekeeping, organisation and health and safety)

Previous experience an advantage but not essential as training will be given on the job.

Qualifications and Skills

Flexible team working, attention to detail, diligence in record-keeping, proficiency in all forms of communication and excellent time management are essential personal qualities, as well as problem solving, planning and organisational skills.

Minimum education entry 2-3 A levels (to include 1 science based subject)

Research Scientists. – 2 Posts.

Mologic Ltd are seeking Research Scientists to join their R&D teams developing point of care diagnostics products.

Responsibilities and Duties.

Candidates should have good experience and capability in assay technology and development, preferably with some lateral flow experience and associated reader software knowledge. Additional skills in antibody development and assessment, protein chemistry techniques (i.e. conjugation and analysis of proteins) and column chromatography or microbiology would be an advantage.

It will be necessary to demonstrate a good knowledge and direct experience of all the factors underlying the use of antibodies in applied techniques, especially the impact of antibody affinity and non-specific binding etc., and advantages and disadvantages of various soluble and particulate labels and detection methods, as well as different types of solid phase and/or non-wash homogeneous systems.

Qualifications and Skills.

Flexible team working, attention to detail, diligence in record-keeping, proficiency in all forms of communication and excellent time management are essential personal qualities, as well as design of experiments, problem solving, planning and organisational skills.
A proven record of effective applied scientific creativity in the field of healthcare diagnostics is essential.
Experience in biochemistry, immunodiagnostics and applied industrial research is essential.

An Honours Degree (or equivalent) in science with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is expected.
