Research Assistants. – 2 Posts.

Job Summary

Mologic Ltd are seeking Research Assistants to join their R&D teams developing point of care diagnostic products.

Responsibilities and Duties
Duties include sample receipt and testing, QC testing, Data Entry, Assay development, Multiplexing, Equipment monitoring, QC and maintenance, Manufacturing. preparing various buffer solutions, stocking up laboratory consumables and helping to process goods in etc; autoclaving laboratory waste materials to sterilise it; Supporting the set of clinical studies, including supplies and monitoring, QC testing of manufactured batches and finished kits.

Daily write up of all project work in lab books.

Control of work areas (service of equipment, housekeeping, organisation and health and safety)

Previous experience an advantage but not essential as training will be given on the job.

Qualifications and Skills
Flexible team working, attention to detail, diligence in record-keeping, proficiency in all forms of communication and excellent time management are essential personal qualities, as well as problem solving, planning and organisational skills.

Minimum education entry 2-3 A levels (to include 1 science based subject)

Research Scientists. – 2 Posts.


Job Summary
Mologic Ltd are seeking Research Scientists to join their R&D teams developing point of care diagnostic products.

Responsibilities and Duties
Candidates should have good experience and capability in assay technology and development, preferably with some lateral flow experience and associated reader software knowledge. Additional skills in antibody development and assessment, protein chemistry techniques (i.e. conjugation and analysis of proteins) and column chromatography or microbiology would be an advantage.

It will be necessary to demonstrate a good knowledge and direct experience of all the factors underlying the use of antibodies in applied techniques, especially the impact of antibody affinity and non-specific binding etc., and advantages and disadvantages of various soluble and particulate labels and detection methods, as well as different types of solid phase and/or non-wash homogeneous systems.

Qualifications and Skills
Flexible team working, attention to detail, diligence in record-keeping, proficiency in all forms of communication and excellent time management are essential personal qualities, as well as design of experiments, problem solving, planning and organisational skills.

A proven record of effective applied scientific creativity in the field of healthcare diagnostics is essential.

Experience in biochemistry, immunodiagnostics and applied industrial research is essential.

An Honours Degree (or equivalent) in science with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is expected.
